The
Pahari Miniature Paintings are a prime attraction of Himachal's art and
culture especially, in the small states of Nurpur, Guler,
Kangra and Nadaun,
Kullu ,
Chamba and ultimately at
Sujanpur Tira - the known home of
Kangra paintings. Brilliant hues, dragons, a 'garuda' on a flowering
tree and 'swastikas' for luck are some of the traditional patterns found
on carpets from Himachal Pradesh. Shawls are a
speciality of Himachal Pradesh and the most notable
ones are the 'Pashmina' Shawls made from the hair of Pashmina goat. The
most popular styles are 'Dhoobro' and 'Pattu' shawls. A
Chamba Rumal is a priceless
possession and can be used as wall hanging, door and fire screen.
