Located in district Kangra,
11-km from Dharamsala and
surrounded by deodar trees, Dal Lake is on the motor road to Talnu.
Held sacred, this lake has a small Shiva temple on its banks. The banks
of the lake are enlivened every September by a fair attended by many
tourists- amongst others - by a large number of migrant Gaddi folk.
Hotels and Rest Houses are available in the nearby premises
of the lake. The HPTDC has hotels in both
Dharamsala and
Mcleod Ganj.
