Lippa too seems to have been an important centre of
Buddhism. The monastery was started by Lama Devarama but was completed by
his son. The Lama Devarama was a renowned astrologer.
This gompa is having three temples. Out these two house the 'Kangyur' and
'Tangyur' scriptures, while the third is the 'Goldang Chakodar'.
The 'JANGI MONASTERY' and the 'LIPPA MONASTERY' of the Kinnaur district
are well established and worth a visit. One can also pay a visit to the
Chango Monastery in the Chango village.
