The Siddhanatha temple at Baijanath
is similar in its arrangement both in its interior and exterior to that of
Mahadeva temple commonly known as Siddanatha temple.
THE LEGEND OF SIDDHANATHA TEMPLE
According to the legends, the construction of these two temples of
Siddhanatha and Baijnatha, both dedicated to Siva, is attributed to two
brothers of Baniya community named Baijnath and Siddhanatha, popularly
known as 'Baiju' and 'Siddhu'. The name of the village in which the
temples are situated was 'Kiragrama'.
