If the Kalka Shimla Track abounds with tunnels, then the
164-km long narrow-gauge-line between Pathankot And Jogindernagar comes
with more than a fair share of bridges - 971 that span both rivers and
little brooks.
Commissioned in 1929, with the primary purpose of connecting the
broad-gauge railhead at Pathankot to the Shanon Power Works at
Jogindernagar, the line is wonderful way of sampling Kangra's beauty. It
feeds most of the major places of the major places of in Kangra. And one
of the finest stretches of track is along the waters of the Maharana
Pratap Sagar with the Dhauladhar Mountains.
