Kangra
and Chamba districts are the
home of the Gaddi Shepherds, a colourful Hindu tribe of
Himachal Pradesh. Gujjars are
a semi-nomadic Muslim tribe, hearding sheeps, goats and buffalo and are
usually vegetarians. The Kinner tribe
is confined to the Kinnaur district only and consists of two types of
castes 'Rajputs' and the 'Berus'. The People belonging to the
Lahaul district are known as
Lahaulas and their dialect resembles Tibetan. They have also got a close
resemblance to the Ladakhis and Tibetans.
