The
Kangra Valley is situated between the Dhaula Dhar ranges and
Shivalik foothills in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
Named after the town of Kangra, the main centre point over here is
Dharamsala. Chamba Valley's
hills, mountains, rivers, streams, springs, green meadows and forests are
a matchless charm. Among the most interesting objects in
Chamba are a number of ancient
temples especially the Lakshmi
Narayan Temple. The exquisite Baspa river valley, popularly known as
Sangla Valley meanders down from the
high mountains on the borders with Garhwal and Tibet and is lushed with
picturesque villages. The
Parbati Valley has got a striking beauty and is a hiker's paradise
having two of the biggest trails within it. The two treks over here are
from Jari over the Chandrakhani Pass to Nagar and Pin Valley trek. Pin
valley is a protected area, having the
Great Himalayan
National Park situated in its southwest zone. The Pin Valley
National Park is situated in the cold desert of
Spiti Valley.
